ABOUT OUR FIRST LADY
Our First Lady, Dr. Alisa R McLean, serves as the Interim Superintendent of Thomasville City Schools. She has had a long and distinguished career in public education spanning over 30 years. Dr. McLean's profound expertise in public education is exceptional. She served as assistant superintendent for teaching, learning, and leadership and area superintendent for Durham Public Schools. Additionally, she worked as a school transformation coach with the N.C. Department of Public Instruction and as an assistant superintendent in the Alamance-Burlington School System. Dr. McLean began her career in public education as an assistant principal and principal in Roxboro and Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Dr. McLean has an impressive academic background as well, including a bachelor’s degree in English education from Elizabeth City State University. She obtained a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision from East Carolina University and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also participated and later served as a consultant and assistant director for the Principals’ Executive Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. McLean and Pastor McLean have been married for 30 years. They are proud parents of their lovely daughter, Mrs. Imari McLean Way, and their beloved son-in-love, Dr. Kier A. Way. They are also grandparents to their new granddaughter, Ami Rhaenyra Way. Dr. McLean is the daughter of Bishop and Mrs. AC Robinson Jr. of Elizabeth City, NC. |
